Are you ready to feel more calm and at peace in your own body and mind?

Traumatic events create imprints on our bodies and mind. Often we feel we cannot relax, we are sensitive to sounds, places, and even people. Trauma impacts our ability to feel a connection and decreases our feelings of safety in our daily lives and relationships.

Maybe you feel like anxiety has you trapped. Anxiety can impact the way you function and connect with others. It can cause you to isolate, miss out on enjoyment, and feel as though you will never get any better. It can cause you to worry so much that you miss out on life’s precious moments.

Together we can work to decrease the feelings of isolation, inadequacy, fear, and worry!

You will learn:

How to notice and manage feelings of anxiety before they overwhelm your ability to cope.

  • How to release the burdens of past traumas, allowing space for connection, self-acceptance, and peace.

  • Exercises and skills to successfully decrease the impacts of painful experiences, negative thinking, and/or overwhelming physical sensations.

Together we will explore the past challenges that have created discomfort in your current day-to-day. We will discuss the various parts of yourself that have held on to experiences and have created protective behaviors to continue functioning. As a therapist, guided by Internal Family Systems, I believe that we all have parts within us that experience and respond to difficult situations and events in different ways. Within our work, we will discover your various internal parts and help them to function in a way that is more successful, productive, and enjoyable in your life today.

Frequently Asked Questions about Therapy for Anxiety & Trauma:

  • According to the IFS institute “Internal Family Systems is a powerfully transformative, evidence based model of psychotherapy. We believe the mind is naturally multiple and that is a good thing. Our inner parts contain valuable qualities and our core Self knows how to heal, allowing us to become integrated and whole. In IFS all parts are welcome.”

  • During our first session together we will start with an intake to gather information on your past experiences and current situation. We will begin to build a trusting relationship, the key to any successful therapeutic work. During our first session together we will start with an intake to gather information on your past experiences and current situation. We will begin to build a trusting relationship, the key to any successful therapeutic work. Once all of our parts feel safe in the meeting space we can start to move forward. I work through a lens guided by Internal Family Systems, meaning that we will use parts language to lead us on this journey (no experience necessary). We will explore and learn about the parts active during situations and experiences and begin to shift our lens from judgment to compassion for their hard work and efforts. We will also incorporate guided meditation, self-care exercises, and somatic or body-based work into our journey together.
